Best "LOVE" Signs for Virginia Road Lovers

There are numerous "LOVE" signs in Virginia relating to roads. If you're on Hunty Roads, there's a very good chance you are a road enthusiast (we call ourselves "road-geeks"). The list below has the 8 best LOVE signs in Virginia that have anything to do with roads/highways/travel.

8. South Boston

Two of the four letters here have something in relation to roads. The ones that do are the O and the E, which the O features a tire reading "HALIFAX COUNTY VIRGINIA" on the front-face, and the E is designed with the checkered flag and multiple stickers related to racing and the VIRginia International Raceway, which is located not too far from South Boston.

Address: 1180 Bill Tuck Hwy, South Boston, VA 24592

7. Dillwyn

The first railroad-themed LOVE sign on this list, this one features a black L extending under the O, which is designed as a train wheel. The V is also plain black, and the E is three railroad crossing gates, with the vertical line as the light pole.

Address: 1001 Main St, Dillwyn, VA 23936

6. East Highland Park

Racing counts as roads, right? This LOVE sign is at the Richmond Raceway, and contains four tires as the L, a checkered ring as the O, numerous racing helmets for the V, and parts of numerous NASCAR drivers' cars, including Jeff Burton.

Address: 602 E Laburnum Ave, Richmond, VA 23222

5. Buchanan

The road-related part of this LOVE sign isn't really in the word itself, but rather the background design around it. The background is two people driving a car down a road with the Blue Ridge Mountains in view, and the word itself contains all four seasons for all four letters, with paintings of the area inside of the letters.

Address: 19386 Main St, Buchanan, VA 24066

4. Appalachia

This LOVE sign is located at the intersection of US 23 Business and VA-68, featuring a tunnel through the mountains on the L, a person kayaking on a river (presumably the Powell River) for the O, another mountain with a VA-160 shield (which VA-160 comes close to the sign) on the V, and finally the words "WE ARE APPALACHIA" on the E.

Address: 701 W Main St, Appalachia, VA 24216

3. Tazewell

The LOVE sign here is all about VA-16, also known as the Back of the Dragon. The L resembles a driver's seat which you can sit in, with a steering wheel. The O is a tire, while the V is designed as a dragon facing the L & O. Finally, the E is a traffic light with street name signs themed for the route.

Address: 592 W Main St, Tazewell, VA 24651

2. Parksley

While not exactly being road-related, but rather railroad-related, this LOVE sign is just too good to exclude from the ranking list. This sign is located at the intersection of VA-316 and VA-176 in Parksley.

For the letters, the L here takes a caboose design, followed by the O being plain white with the hole being a heart. The V is designed as a railroad crossing sign, and the E is a locomotive. All four of the letters are complete with train wheels at the bottom.

Address: 18468 Dunne Ave, Parksley, VA 23421

1. Wytheville

The best road and travel related LOVE sign in the Commonwealth of Virginia goes to the sign in Wytheville. The L is a railroad crossing sign over a mountain background, the O is a color wheel, while the V is a graphic of I-77 and I-81, which have a well-known wrong-way concurrency in the town. The E has a baseball and bat design.

Address: 300 N 4th St, Wytheville, VA 24382
